2026 Vision Board Party! đ
Let's harness this magic together
This was my vision board for 2025:
I made it at last yearâs Secret Stuff vision board party and hung it up in my home office. I didnât particularly love it or anything, nor did I look at it every day. But looking at it now, Iâm kinda stunned.
I made the vision board by pulling out photos from magazines that appealed to me without overthinking it. Just things that felt like ME or the me I wanted to be.
(Yes, I do still get several print magazines in the mail every month, home and style magazines that are perfect for projects like this but that I also keep for my collage hobby. If you donât have many magazines around, I share other vision board options below.)
Looking at it now, several things really stand out:
âĄď¸Pictures of home spaces really dominate and that makes sense. All of 2024 and most of 2025 were consumed with home renovations, and I was eager to have it all done. I think I was dreaming of our home being beautiful and completed.
âĄď¸Likewise, style is also fairly well featured. (Including that photo of one of the Olsen twins, with hair, makeup, and coziness Iâve gravitated towards.) That closet photo in the top right is where my eye is immediately drawn, but also that woman kicking her leg joyously in the jumpsuit and the woman in the queen-like headdress. I mean.
âĄď¸But itâs actually the WORDS that surprise me the most. Welcome and Quiet Time and POWER. These were all things I was craving at the end of last year, after a lot of loudness, discombobulation, and a few scenarios where I felt Iâd given away my own control and autonomy. I cut out two different phrases about changing direction. When I made this board 12 months ago, I didnât know I was going to close the the 10 Things To Tell You podcast or launch Slow Read or make some definitive changes in my personal and social life. Well, it seems some deeper part of me did know, but I wasnât conscious of it.
Isnât that kind of wild?
Look I have no idea what magic is happening when you make a vision board. I lean woo-woo, but I have mixed feelings on things like manifestation.
But thereâs no denying that something happens when we communicate with our subconscious, and I think creating a vision board and other such activities help us merge our intuition and reality.
So letâs do it again! A vision board party for 2026.
Weâll meet over zoom this Sunday, January 4 at 4pm PT / 6pm CT / 7pm ET.
(Zoom details below.)
Weâll hang out together and chat while we make our vision boards. Although it wonât be guided like the end-of-year Journal Party, it is a dedicated time to make yourself sit down and do it. (Which is half the battle, right?)
Hereâs how it will work:
Show up on zoom at the appointed time
Bring a stack of magazines OR a second screen if youâre going to do it digitally
Have the background of whatever youâre going to paste your images on (a piece of cardboard or a bulletin board, even just 8x10 printer paper can work)
Weâll chat and craft together. Iâll likely throw out a verbal prompt or something. It will be chill and informal
When weâre done, youâll be able to share your vision boards (if you want) to the Secret Stuff chat thread (since it wonât let us share images in the comments).
You can create a digital vision board:
If you donât have magazines or just prefer to do it on a screen (because then you can make it a screensaver or something), then plan to collect images via Pinterest or image search or something
You might do this by searching things like âtravelâ or âbeautiful living roomâ or âNYC street styleâ or whatever floats your boat and then choose from the images that pop up. Thatâs a little less spontaneous than the magazine method, but I can also see how itâs a little more intentional
After downloading or screenshotting, you would then collect your images all together in Canva or something similar
The 2026 Vision Board Party is for Secret Stuff monthly or annual members and WILL NOT BE RECORDED.
If youâre on the fence about joining Secret Stuff for 2026, now is the time to jump in while itâs still $5/month and $55/year. Monthly and annual pricing goes up January 11. (If youâre already a member, your price stays the same as when you joined for as long as you stay a member.)
